The Roots to Executive Produce 'Hamilton (Original Broadway Cast Recording),' Out This Fall on Atlantic Records: Exclusive

Hamilton, the hip-hop musical about the life of Alexander Hamilton that's received rave reviews, has just hit Broadway (currently in previews, it officially opens Aug. 6 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre) and soon, it will be hitting a store near you.

Billboard has the exclusive announcement that Atlantic Records will release Hamilton (Original Broadway Cast Recording) this fall and will be executive produced by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter of The Roots. Pre-order will be available Aug. 7 via all digital retailers.

“Ten minutes into Hamilton, though, I was just so stunned. It was such a sucker punch,” says Thompson. Hamilton “can be your introduction to hip-hop -- on Broadway. And it’s a valid one. It’s a credible one.”

Hamilton is the brainchild of Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer Lin Manuel Miranda, who wrote the show's book, music and lyrics while also taking on the starring role. For tickets to the show, visit their site here
