Celine Dion has extended her run at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas for an additional year. The announcement was made at a Sept. 16 press conference in the city, which Dion was unable to attend due to a sinus infection that forced her to cancel shows through the remainder of last week.
Dion performed the previous evening at the World Music Awards in Vegas, and accepted a Diamond Award as the best-selling female singer in history.
In her place at the press conference, husband/manager Rene Angelil shared that the bubbly, calypso-flavored cover of John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy" will be the single from Dion's upcoming Epic album, "Miracle," a collaboration with famed child photographer Ann Geddes. Due Oct. 12, the disc will be packaged with a 180-page coffee table book, as a boxed set and as a single CD.
Dion will publicize the project with appearances on "Oprah," "Regis & Kelly," "The View" and "Access Hollywood." As previously reported, she will perform Oct. 15 at WLTW (Lite-FM) New York's One Nite with Lite concert at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, her only 2004 concert appearance outside of Las Vegas.
Ticket holders for the Sept. 16 Vegas show were given a refund and treated to a free screening of the upcoming DVD of the extravaganza, due in December.
