With a guest list that includes hot players Kanye West and Twista, Cam'ron is preparing the release of his new album, "Purple Haze." Due Dec. 7 via Diplomats/Roc-A-Fella, the set is said to boast the vivid street imagery that is the rapper's hallmark. To that end, a short film is planned to accompany the album's release.

"I want you to have the visual," Cam'ron says, "even if you don't see the movie. Visualize it just by listening. Its like a verbal movie or even a book."

The album's first single will be an update of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." Other tracks will include "Lord You Know" featuring Jaheim, "Killa Cam," "Get Em Girls," "Shake" and "Hey Lady." The set also boasts appearances by the members of the Diplomats: Juelz Santana, Jim Jones and Freekey Zeekey.

The crew was introduced last year with the Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam set "Diplomatic Immunity," credited to Cam'ron Presents the Diplomats. The album bowed at No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 8 on The Billboard 200. It has sold 484,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Cam'ron's last solo set was 2002's "Come Home With Me," which reached the top of the R&B/Hip-Hop tally and bowed at No. 2 on The Billboard 200. The Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam set has moved 1.1 million U.S. copies.
