Soft Cell singer Marc Almond has been discharged from the Royal London hospital to continue his recovery from a severe biking accident at a private facility.

"His progress can only be described as remarkable," reads a post on Almond's official Web site. "He attributes a lot of this to the thousands of messages of love and support he has received from fans, friends [and] the general public the world over as well as many other recording artists."

Almond was the passenger on a bike that collided late last month with a car near St. Paul's Cathedral in central London. He suffered severe injuries after he was thrown into the road. The driver of the motorcycle was also hospitalized.

"Although he has some way to go to full recovery he is looking forward to getting back to work when he can," the site says. "We never imagined that after only three weeks we'd be sitting in a room drinking tea and laughing and joking with him just like before."
