Studio 8, the Detroit-area studio where Eminem recorded "My Name Is" for "The Slim Shady LP" goes on sale today (Dec. 16) on Internet auction site eBay. Eminem recorded at Studio 8 in 1997; "The Slim Shady LP" was released in 1999.

The recently renovated, 700 square-foot Studio 8 is owned by producer A.J. Abdullah. It will be listed in eBay's commercial real estate section for 30 days, with a minimum bid of $215,000. Recording equipment is not part of the sale.

Abdullah, who lived in a second-floor apartment during the "Slim Shady LP" sessions, is spending more time in New York and opted to sell the studio, according to David Giltner, senior CP of real estate company Grubb & Ellis, which is listing the property.

The 1,500 square-foot building is known as the Bassment; Mark and Jeff Bass, co-producers of "The Slim Shady LP" and subsequent Eminem recordings, founded the facility in 1993.
