Watch New 'Daily Show' Host Trevor Noah's 3 Previous Appearances on the Program
The announcement that relative newcomer Trevor Noah would take over Daily Show hosting duties from longtime host Jon Stewart came as something of a surprise to most regular viewers. Not only did the 31-year-old South African comedian only join the cast in December, he's made just three appearances on the show, according to the New York Times.
Here are the clips of his Daily Show segments so far. In the first, he comes on to introduce himself as a new member of the show's cast, highlighting some of the differences between America and his native South Africa.
In his second segment, a piece on how Boko Haram's militant actions in Nigeria have been mostly ignored by Western media, Noah comes on as the "Senior International Correspondent," showing the similarities between the rebel group and the much more discussed ISIS.
Last week (March 20), Noah returned as "Senior International Correspondent" to discuss the U.S. plan to pay elite chess players from other countries to compete for America.
Still curious about the new host? Watch Noah describe his some of his upbringing -- and his first encounters with America -- in a clip from his stand-up show.
