David Gilmour Announces New Solo Album, European Tour

Pink Floyd's Gilmour To Join Waters On Lone 'Wall' Date

David Gilmour has announced a tour of the U.K. and Europe this September in support of his as yet-untitled fourth solo studio album.

The legendary Pink Floyd guitarist and singer will play some of the region's most exquisite venues, with an opener at the historic Roman amphitheatre, Arena Pula, in Croatia on Sept 12. The trek will wrap up in his hometown with three dates at London's Royal Albert Hall from Sept. 23.

Gilmour's new solo set follows the release last year of Pink Floyd's The Endless River, the band's first record since 1994's The Division Bell, and likely their last. The album reportedly reached No. 1 in 21 countries, and was one of the U.K.'s 10 best-selling albums of 2014.

Gilmour has three solo albums to his credit. His self-titled debut solo album dropped in 1978 and About Face came in 1984. The biggest hit of the three was On An Island, which hit No. 1 in the U.K. and No. 6 in the U.S. following its release in 2006. Gilmour hasn't toured since.
