Darren Criss Returns to Broadway in 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch'
Glee star Darren Criss is planning to return to Broadway for a 12-week role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Criss' first stint on Broadway was in 2012 when he joined the cast of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Stephen Trask, composer and lyricist for Hedwig, said in a statement, "The first time I saw Darren I knew he was a game changer. He's that good. Then, when we hung out it was like we were old friends...I'm happy that Hedwig can be Darren's next stop on his way to world domination." John Cameron Mitchell, who wrote Hedwig and directed (and starred in) a film version of the musical, was similarly enthusiastic: "I've got a grin plastered on my face that Darren is joining the brotherhood of Hedwigs," he said. "His stage presence is electrifying, his rock and roll credentials and comic timing impeccable."
Tickets for Hedwig are available here. Criss' performances begin at the end of April and run through July 19th.
