Meet the Fockers/Racing StripesSoundtrack Season
Varese Sarabande this week releases soundtracks for the films "Meet the Fockers" and "Racing Stripes." The former features two new songs from Randy Newman; in addition to composing the score for the set, the 2000 Billboard Century Award winner penned the cuts "Crazy About My Baby" and "We're Gonna Get Married." The album also includes selections from Canned Heat and Tim Hardin, among others.
Newman scored film's 2001 prequel, "Meet the Parents" and won the best original song Oscar in 2002 for "If I Didn't Have You," from "Monsters Inc." His next project is the animated film "Cars," due to hit U.S. theaters in late 2005.
On "Racing Stripes," Sting's "Inside Rail" and Bryan Adams' "It Ain't Over Yet" will be augmented by score from veteran composer Mark Isham, who has previously scored the films "Afterglow," "Fly Away Home" and "The Cooler," among others.
In addition to the voices of artists such as Snoop Dogg and Mandy Moore, the animated film boasts the vocal talents of Dustin Hoffman, David Spade and Whoopi Goldberg, among others.
