As would be expected for a rodeo, the schedule for the March 1-20 event at Reliant Stadium is heavy on country, with everyone from established stars like Alan Jackson and Kenny Chesney to up-and-coming acts such as Gretchen Wilson and Big & Rich.
But there's also substantial talent representing other tastes, including R&B songstress Alicia Keys (March 4), teen pop vocalist Hilary Duff (March 6), modern rock act Maroon 5 (March 16) and classic rock outfits the Steve Miller Band (March 15) and Lynyrd Skynyrd (March 18).
RodeoHouston gets underway at 7 p.m. on weekdays and 4 p.m. on weekends, with various rodeo events leading up to the night's music headliner. A carnival is also part of the festivities during the March 6-18 "Spring Break Stampede."
Tickets go on sale Saturday (Jan. 15) via Ticketmaster and local Houston locations, with prices ranging from $16 to $77. A section of "chute seats," located directly behind the rodeo bucking chutes, will run $200 and $300, with the option of watching the music performances from the seats or a special area on the stadium floor. The price includes an authentic chuck wagon dinner, "Corral Club" admission and drink tickets, carnival ride coupons and other perks.
