Exclusive Premiere: Catch Islander's 'New Wave' Video

South Carolina's Islander has been making waves since releasing its debut full length Violence & Destruction last April on Victory Records. Today, the quartet continues to build momentum with a new music video, the second from the LP. Check out the video for the melodic yet hard rocking "New Wave," premiering exclusively via Billboard.

The ominous beachside video features the same demonic mask that popped up in Islander's last music video, for "Coconut Dracula." Again, it's worn by a child who travels via motorcycle to deliver to deliver a heavy message. It matches the power of "New Wave," with streamlined choruses punctuated by chugging, metallic guitars just before things get a little too melodic.

Seether, Papa Roach Announce Co-Headlining Tour

"'New Wave' is one of my favorite songs on the record," vocalist Mikey Carvajal tells Billboard. "When I was writing the lyrics, our producer, Cameron Webb, put me in a room by myself and turned on a movie filled with random footage and people surfing in slow motion. So when I hear the song, that's still what I think about. It's a joyful song about the end of the world. I also pick on myself a bit because of my love for new wave music like Depeche Mode, New Order."

There's nothing wrong with that!
