Ray Charles

More 'Ray'

RayThe hit Ray Charles biopic "Ray" spawns a second soundtrack this week, as Rhino brings forth "Ray: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Vol. 2." The set features several tracks the late Charles re-recorded specifically for the project, among them "Leave My Woman Alone," "Rockhouse Parts 1 and 2" and "I Believe to My Soul."

The versions of "Baby Let Me Hold Your Hand" and "You Don't Know Me/Drown in My Own Tears" date back to 2002, when the film was in its earliest stages. Other Charles favorites appearing on "Vol. 2" include "Baby, It's Cold Outside" with Betty Carter, "Makin' Whoopee," "Lonely Avenue," "Busted" and "But on the Other Hand Baby."

The first "Ray" soundtrack has been a huge hit, peaking at No. 9 on The Billboard 200. The film is up for a best picture Oscar, while Jamie Foxx's portrayal of Charles earned him a nomination for best actor.
