Pearl Jam, the Presidents Of The United States Of America, Bill Frisell and Heart's Ann and Nancy Wilson have signed on for the Concert for the Northwest School, to be held March 18 at Seattle's Paramount Theater.

Proceeds will benefit the school, a college preparatory institution for grades six through 12 which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Among its alumni are Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard and Presidents drummer Jason Finn; Ann Wilson and Frisell are parents of current and former students, respectively.

Students will also play a first-hand role in the event. Two winners of a talent contest will perform between sets at the show, two fine arts students will assist in creating merchandise and a host of theater students will shadow the executive producer for an up-close look at behind-the-scenes planning.

Tickets have already been made available to Northwest School students and their families. Members of the participating acts' fan club organizations will be eligible for a ticket lottery beginning today (Jan. 31), and, in an attempt to curb scalping, 400 additional seats will go on sale Feb. 8 via online auction through a special Ticketmaster page.

Minimum bids for those seats are based on proximity to the stage and will begin at levels of $90, $150 and $300 per pair. Some premium tickets will also be available with travel packages featuring round-trip airfare on Alaska Airlines, hotel accommodations and autographed show posters.

This will be Pearl Jam's first show since the Oct. 11, 2004, finale of the Vote for Change tour in Washington, D.C. As previously reported, the band is at work on its eighth studio album in Seattle.

In between, guitarist Mike McCready and veteran Seattle musician/longtime Pearl Jam friend Gary Westlake spent time last week with singer/songwriter Peter Frampton to record a track for the latter's upcoming instrumental album, expected to be released later this year.
