Rob Thomas' solo debut single, "Lonely No More," premieres today (Feb. 1) exclusively via AOL Music's First Listen initiative. Produced by Virgin chairman/CEO and longtime matchbox twenty collaborator Matt Serletic, the cut will be delivered to U.S. pop and Hot AC radio stations on Feb. 14 for airplay consideration.

As previously reported, Thomas' first solo album, "Something To Be," will be released April 26 via Melisma/Atlantic. Guitarist Robert Randolph contributes a solo to the track "I'm an Illusion," which opens with a sample of Bessie Jones' "Oh Death," while John Mayer guests on an as-yet-unidentified track.

Other songs pegged for "Something To Be" include the drum-and-guitar-driven "This Is How a Heart Breaks" and the ballad "Every the Same," which wouldn't sound out of place on a matchbox twenty album.

In related news, former matchbox twenty guitarist Adam Gaynor has spoken out about his departure from the band, which was first revealed last month by Billboard.com.

"As you may have read I will no longer be a member of the band," he wrote on his official Web site. "I know most of you were confused if not angered by this news. I wish there was some bright rainbow of an answer here, but there is not."

"I have been fidgeting around in the attic and have worked on some incredible projects, musically and otherwise, that I can't wait to share with you all in a few weeks," he continued.
