Anastasio Books Spring U.S. Tour

The trek will begin April 26 in Richmond, Va., and wrap with a May 13-14 stand at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.

Former Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio has confirmed a three-week U.S. tour that will include a previously announced May 1 stop at New Orleans' Jazz & Heritage Festival. The trek will begin April 26 in Richmond, Va., and wrap with a May 13-14 stand at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.

According to his official Web site, Anastasio will be backed by "a new group of supporting musicians," but no further information was revealed. The artist is also booked to perform during the Bonnaroo festival in mid-June in Manchester, Tenn., and on July 24 at Minnesot's 10,000 Lakes Festival, foreshadowing additional summer shows.

The artist has spent five months in the studio working on his next solo album, expected to be released this summer on a label to be announced, according to a spokesperson. The set is expected to feature appearances by King Crimson/Peter Gabriel bassist Tony Levin, drummer Jerry Marotta and keyboardist Ray Paczkowski, as well as Phish rhythm section Jon Fishman and Mike Gordon and Anastasio solo band trumpeter Jennifer Hartswick.

As previously reported, Anastasio is among the guests confirmed for jazz legend Herbie Hancock's as-yet-untitled next studio project, due Sept. 13 via Vector.
