Toby Keith has set a May 17 release date for his next DreamWorks studio album, "Honkytonk University." First single "Honky Tonk U" reaches a new peak of No. 9 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart this week. The accompanying video is the No. 6 most-played on CMT, which is planning a Keith special the weekend of the new album's release.

The artist is offering a limited-edition album pre-sale package via his official Web site that includes entry in a contest for a trip to the opening of Keith's Las Vegas restaurant at Harrah's casino.

Keith has also confirmed his Big Throwdown II summer tour, beginning June 10 in Charlotte, N.C. Lee Ann Womack and Shooter Jennings will also be on the bill for the trek, which has dates on tap through Aug. 26 in Hershey, Pa.

Beforehand, Keith will join Vince Gill and several other acts for a previously announced April 22 show in Oklahoma City, honoring survivors of and families affected by the 1995 bombing of the city's Murrah Federal Building.

The artist is also nominated for four Academy of Country Music Awards, to be handed out the evening of his new album's release. On the CBS telecast, Keith will perform "Honky Tonk U" live via satellite from his USO tour in the Middle East.
