Man Overboard Goes Acoustic: Listen to Exclusive Premiere of ‘Passing Ends’ EP

For Man Overboard, a tragedy in the life of vocalist/bassist Nik Bruzzese found the New Jersey band trading in electric for acoustic.

“I have been throwing ideas around for another acoustic EP for a while now,” Bruzzese tells Billboard. “Before deciding to go through with it my dad passed away. To say the least it was a tough time being alone in the studio. This is what it sounded like for the first time.”

That studio time resulted in the new Passing Ends EP, which Billboard is excited to premiere.

Passing Ends drops officially on Oct. 28 via Lost Tape Collective. It was recorded in the same spot -- the band’s Small Hill Studio -- where previous efforts like "Love Your Friends, Die Laughing" and the Noise From Upstairs EP were born. And according to Bruzzese, plenty of other new songs are coming out of the space.

“Something Man Overboard has always had is a lot of songs. I'm in my studio almost every day writing and working on songs. It's just what I do. I haven't really had an easy year so far so I guess you won't hear me singing about love being in the air. The songs will show the frustration.”

These songs will manifest themselves in the band’s next full length, due in 2015 on Rise Records. In the meantime, Man Overboard is currently on a mini-tour of the Northeastern U.S. through the end of October, with an in-store performance at West Babylon, NY’s Looney Tunes up next.
