Two of this summer's major festivals have bolstered their lineups. Playing their first show in several years, the all-star collective the Word (John Medeski, Robert Randolph, North Mississippi Allstars) will regroup for Tennessee's Bonnaroo festival, which runs June 10-12.
Also added to the bill are Kings Of Leon, Bob Weir and Ratdog, the Perceptionists, De La Soul, Matisyahu and Galactic. As previously reported, Herbie Hancock has restaffed his band, the Headhunters, to perform at the event, and will also serve as Bonnaroo's first "artist in residence.
In Bonnaroo's comedy tent, festivalgoers will be treated to performances from Jim Bruer and "Chappelle's Show" regular Charlie Murphy.
As for the revived Lollapalooza festival, which will be held July 23-24 in Chicago's Grant Park, additions include ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, the International Noise Conspiracy, Ben Kweller, Drive-By Truckers, the Ponys and Mark Farina.
The bill is headed by the Pixies, the Killers, Widespread Panic, Weezer, the Arcade Fire, Death Cab For Cutie and Dashboard Confessional.
