Good Charlotte has parted ways with drummer Chris Wilson, according to a message on the band's official Web site. Without revealing specifics, the post says Wilson is suffering from "personal health problems" that have caused him to miss some recent shows. He will be replaced by Dean Butterworth, who played drums in Morrissey's band on the former Smiths frontman's 2004 tour.

"Unfortunately, [Wilson's] problems continue and we have made a collective decision to have Chris stay around his friends and family and begin to truly rehabilitate," the statement reads.

"This has not been easy on any of us ... we loved playing with Chris so much," it continues. "We hope everyone will be respectful and understand the situation and pray that Chris gets better."

Butterworth is already behind the kit for Good Charlotte's Noise to the World tour with fellow pop/punk outfit Simple Plan. The trek visits Portland, Me., tonight (May 17).
