Watch Sofia Reyes & Wisin in 'Muevelo': Exclusive Video Premiere
The music video was directed by Steven Gomillion and Dennis Leupold who have worked with Jennifer Lopez, among others.
Pop singer Sofia Reyes and her friends take a drive through a balmy desert when suddenly they see eye-candy-worthy guys and their broken-down car. They all look at each other, and let's just say the party begins.
This is the backdrop to the "Muevelo" U.S. single and music video debut for Reyes, the Mexican-born bilingual pop singer who in June became the first entertainer to join Prince Royce's new label D'Leon Records in partnership with Warner Latin Music.
The song "Muevelo," or "Move It," is a nightclub anthem featuring reggaeton star Wisin and is part of an upcoming album for the songstress, who has also performed with Royce during his most recent tour.
Reyes, who recently spoke to Billboard, said she wanted to "deliver a fun and fresh bilingual song" to make her fans move to the beats and rhythms.
Wisin didn't make it to the desert party, but he does show off his rapid-fire raps through an insert that's part of the video for the song, which has climbed 63 percent this tracking week (ending Oct. 5) across all Latin Airplay stations that report to Billboard to nearly 900,000 audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS. "Muevelo" was written by Reyes, Wisin (Juan L. Morera), Lil' Eddie, Eritza Laues, Marissa Jack, Toby Gad and Slikk.
The actual video was filmed in mid-July in Joshua Tree, Calif., and directed by Steven Gomillion and Dennis Leupold. The duo have worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Jennifer Lopez for her "Same Girl" video.
"When Prince introduced us to Sofia, we knew she had the talent to become the next superstar," said Gabriela Martinez, general manager Warner Music Latina & VP Marketing, Latin America, in an earlier statement. "We are ecstatic to be part of this new venture."
