Modern rock outfit Staind's fifth album, appropriately dubbed "Chapter V," will be released Aug. 9 via Flip/Atlantic. First single "Right Here" is No. 13 in its second week on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart and debuted last week at No. 23 on the Modern Rock tally.
"Chapter V" was produced by David Bottrill (Peter Gabriel, Godsmack) and also features the tracks "Paper Jesus" and "Falling." Staind members Aaron Lewis and Mike Mushok are taking a guerilla approach to whetting fans' appetites by visiting 16 North American cities and inviting fans onto their tour bus to hear some of the new music.
As previously reported, Staind will open for 3 Doors Down on its summer tour, which begins June 30 in Manchester, N.H., and will conclude Sept. 4 in Syracuse, N.Y.
"Chapter V" is the follow-up to 2003's "14 Shades of Grey," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 1.4 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
