Morrissey Launches Merch Store, Sells ‘I Will Kill You’ T-Shirt
Morrissey’s next big hit might be a t-shirt.
Moz’ inventory includes a range of shirts emblazoned with the phrase, “Be kind to animals. Or I will kill you.” Some items are stamped with appropriate song titles or classic lyrics. There’s a “Shoplifters of the World Unite” tote bag, and a mug carrying the line “share some greased tea with me,” a lyric from “Everyday Is Like Sunday.” The animal activist’s store includes mouse pads, pillowcases, hoodies, postcards, tea towels, and a Morrissey standard -- the metal cross necklace. The goods, however, vary across the two international stores.
Months from now, the Brit will be able to look back on what’s been another eventful, headline-generating year in his career. The singer has been linked with a Ramones best-of project, and he was at the heart of a messy, public split with Harvest Records.
Less than a month after the release of his 2014 solo album World Peace Is None of Your Business, the artist’s complaints over lack of promotion led to the album being removed from digital retailers and its videos being removed from YouTube and Vevo. He reportedly grew unhappy with the label, a subsidiary of Capitol Music Group, when it didn't make a music video for album track "Istanbul."
Morrissey is scheduled to hit the road next month for a European tour starting Oct. 6 in Lisbon, Portugal (Coliseum).
