Guests Populate Ying-Yang Twins' 'U.S.A.'

From Missy Elliott to Maroon5's Adam Levine, the forthcoming Ying-Yang Twins album is packed with guest appearances. Due June 28 from Collipark/TVT, "U.S.A (United State of Atlanta)," the fourth album from the Dirty South duo of D-Roc and Kaine boasts the added talents of Mike Jones, Avant, Anthony Hamilton and Busta Rhymes and others across its 23 tracks.

The set has been heralded by "Wait (The Whisper Song)," a cut that is No. 3 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, peaked at No. 15 on the Hot 100 and has notched four weeks at the head of the Hot Ringtones tally. A "Wait" remix featuring Elliot, Lil Scrapp and Rhymes was recently serviced to U.S. radio and will appear on "U.S.A."

With that success already established, TVT is readying a push behind "Badd," a track that features Jones and Mr. Collipark. Other appearances include Jacki-O on "Hoes," Pitbull on "Shake," Anwar on "My Brotherskeeper" and the seemingly incongruous Levine on "Live Again."

"Me and my brother aren't really rappers, we're entertainers," Kaine says. "A lot of people get it confused and think that the crunk thing is all that the South is about. But we just make good music, period. It doesn't matter what race or creed you are, we can give you that song that gets you hype in the club."

One highlight of the set is "Long Time," a spiritually influenced interpretation of Al Green's well-known gospel number "Belle" featuring Hamilton and produced by Midnight Black. Kaine says the song is there "to let you know that whatever you think is going on with us -- that all we're about is strippers and hoes -- you don't really know what's going on."

To (literally) fuel interest in the new project, the Ying Yang Twins are giving away gas via a contest on their official Web site. Prizes include 500 $50 Exxon gift cards and a grand prize of free gas for a year.

"U.S.A." is the follow-up to 2003's "Me & My Brother," which debuted at No. 4 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 11 on The Billboard 200. The set, which has sold 1.1 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, spawned last year's remix-set "My Brother & Me," which boasted a DVD featuring the group's videos.
