Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds performs onstage at That Tent during day 3 of the 2014 Bonnaroo Arts And Music Festival on June 14, 2014 in Manchester, Tennessee.

Nothing Nick Cave does is normal, so it should come as no surprise that his new song with the Bad Seeds, "Give Us a Kiss," is anything but a loving, simple exhortation to a lover.

Instead, this subdued, eerie tune is about a lost lover still haunting the singer's dreams. "Give us a kiss / One little sip, sip, sip / Before you slip, slip, slip away," Cave sings, sounding simultaneously tender and obsessive in a way only he can.

The track is from Cave's new movie, 20,000 Days on Earth, a partly fictitious documentary about 24 hours in Cave's life that was well-received at Sundance and currently enjoys a 95 percent "fresh" rating on RottenTomatoes. Watch the trailer below.
