The Killers decided to let drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. sit out for a song on Saturday night when they hit the stage at the Independent in San Francisco, CA. Instead, they invited Haim singer Danielle Haim to join the group for a vintage track.

And, Killers frontman Brandon Flowers revealed just why to the excited crowd.

"You may notice that Ronnie is not at the drumkit," he told the room, in footage posted on YouTube. "We have a cool, special surprise guest. People keep talking about how dance music's taking over and people aren't playing music anymore and all of this. And I think there's homes for everything, but one of the bands that came out and dropped a record on us in 2013 and gave us hope for people playing music was Haim. Danielle, the singer from Haim, is actually a hell of a drummer, and she's gonna play with us. And we're gonn play a song we haven't played in a while."

Danielle and The Killers then launched into the track "On Top," off the band's 2004 debut album "Hot Fuss." Both Haim and The Killers were in town for Outside Lands.

And, in case you were wondering whether her bandmates (and sisters) were proud of her achievement, then the answer, in short, is yes.

Alana tweeted, "MY SISTER JUST PLAYED DRUMS WITH THE KILLERS!!!!!!!! HOLY S---!!!!!!!! IM CRYING SO PROUD."

Meanwhile, Este added, "my sister just played drums with the killers I'm getting super shemotional over here guys."
