The Los Angeles Police Department is reportedly investigating a recent incident between Ray J and police officers who took photos with the singer after pulling him over in his Bentley.
Ray J tells TMZ that he was stopped in the San Fernando Valley on Aug. 6 by two cops who claimed he was using his cell phone while driving. Ray J explained that he was struggling to connect his Bluetooth and was given a warning about texting and driving, TMZ reports.
The encounter seemed to be heading downhill when the officers reportedly asked Ray J to step out of his Bentley. Instead of further trouble, the singer reportedly says the cops simply wanted to take a couple photos with him. Check out the snapshots here.
The LAPD has since launched an investigation into the matter, saying that it’s against policy for officers to take photos with a driver after letting them off without a traffic citation, a law enforcement source tells TMZ.
Ray J’s last run-in with the law went down in late May when the singer was arrested at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel during an incident that ended with him allegedly smashing the side window of a police vehicle with his foot, authorities said.
