Parton Gearing Up For 'Vintage' Tour

Dolly Parton will return to the road next month as part of the Vintage Tour, which will get underway Aug. 16 at the House of Blues in Atlantic City, N.J. Dates are on the books through Dec. 10 in Charenton, La., taking the tour to theaters, arenas, amphitheaters and casinos.

Parton is in the studio finishing her forthcoming album, "Those Were the Days," due in October on Sugar Hill Records. The set will feature a number of high-profile guest appearances from country and pop stars, but a spokesperson could not confirm specifics at deadline.

The artist has also recorded a duet with George Jones, "The Blues Man," which will appear in September on the latter's upcoming Bandit album, "Hits I Missed ... And One I Didn't." In addition, she guests on Brad Paisley's new album, "Time Well Wasted," due Aug. 16 via Arista.

Parton's 2004 tour, produced by Moore Entertainment, grossed more than $6 million from 31 small venue shows.
