The honor will be presented during BMI’s annual R&B/Hip-Hop Awards.
Christopher “Ludacris” Bridges will be presented with the President’s Award at the 2014 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards on Aug. 22. This year’s annual ceremony, which also honors the songwriters, producers and publishers of the previous year’s most-performed R&B/hip-hop songs, will take place at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood.
Ludacris joins such previous President’s Award honorees as Taylor Swift, Adam Levine and Pitbull. In addition to working on his eighth studio album, Ludaversal, the Grammy-winning rapper/actor/entrepreneur/philanthropist currently serves as a judge on ABC-TV’s vocal competition series Rising Star. He also returns to film next year in the theatrical franchise Fast & Furious 7.
The 2014 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards will be hosted by BMI’s president/CEO Mike O’Neill and VP, writer/publisher relations Atlanta Catherine Brewton.
