Veteran rock act Journey has inked with Sanctuary for the Oct. 4 release of its new studio album, "Generations." As previously reported, the new album was recorded in Sausalito, Calif., with producer Kevin Elson, who was behind the boards for the band's 1980's "Departure," the 1981 smash "Escape" and that year's live set "Captured."

Copies of "Generations" have been given away with the purchase of a ticket at most of Journey's summer shows, but the retail edition will feature two additional new songs, "Never Too Late" and "Pride of the Family."

Journey will be on the road through Oct. 9 in Los Angeles and next performs tomorrow (Aug. 19) in Gilford, N.H.
