Alison Krauss + Union Station, Blue Highway, Rhonda Vincent & the Rage and Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver top the list of nominees for the 16th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards, to be held Oct. 27 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.

Krauss + Union Station earned 14 nominations, including entertainer of the year, instrumental group, vocal group and song of the year. Vincent and her band the Rage earned eight nods, among them entertainer, vocal group and female vocalist. Both Blue Highway and Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver received seven nominations each.

Eight-time entertainers of the year the Del McCoury Band received six nominations. Reigning male vocalist Larry Sparks netted five, as did Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Paul Williams and Mountain Heart.

The awards are voted on by the members of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) and are the centerpiece the organization's annual World of Bluegrass gathering. Traditionally held in Louisville, Ky., the Oct. 24-30 event moves to Nashville this year. Krauss and Skaggs will host the awards show.
