U.K. rock act Supergrass has scheduled two U.S. shows in conjunction with the Sept. 27 release of its new Capitol album, "Road to Rouen." On the day of release, the group will play New York's Bowery Ballroom and then head west to Los Angeles for a Sept. 30 show at the Troubadour. Additional North American dates are in the works for early next year.
"Road to Rouen" recently debuted at No. 9 on the U.K. album chart. Frontman Gaz Coombes tells Billboard the making of the set was disrupted by internal and external events, including the birth of his daughter and death of his mother. However, he suggests those factors have given the songs on the album "more weight and a kind of emotional strength. It's been a strange couple of years, the weirdest of the band's career."
