The girl group work at a car wash, lick frosting off their lips and shake their bums for a sweet, summery single
Girl's Day found a resurgence in popularity after uprooting its cute image for a sexy one last year. But the girl group has found a way to reconcile their early, sunny stylings with their signature sexuality in new summer single "Darling."
"Darling" incorporates a modern, jazz-pop sound (similar Secret's "I Do I Do") that blends peppy piano, shimmering strings and brassy horns blasts. The happy-go-lucky, doo-wop sound could easily soundtrack a sunshine-filled day at the beach or pool making the mid-summer release timing rather perfect.

The song's lyrics are about as sweet as sweet can get with the girls playing naive girlfriends unsure how to express themselves to a lover. They attempt with cute references to nature (singing their lover flew on their heart like a butterfly) and candy ("Sugar pop! My lollipop! I'm going to shout" on the chorus). But not forgoing a bit of sex appeal, the quartet adds that they do get "hot" from their new relationship.
The video stays consistent with the song with the girls donning bright dresses and swimsuits in a slew of summery scenes. The GsD gals get soapy in a car wash, sip cocktails by the pool and bake rainbow-colored treats while serving countless winks, smiles and kissy faces for the camera. The K-pop stars add the sexiness via playful butt-shaking on the hook, cleavage in their swimwear and suggestive moments like Hyeri licking frosting off her lips in the kitchen.
Girl's Day's January single "Something" was arguably their sultriest, prompting TV broadcasters to ask them to tone down the choreography. The track peaked at No. 2 on the K-Pop Hot 100, the group's highest entry to date. Have Girl's Day found a perfect mix with this summer sweetness with a dose of sexy? So far, all sounds (and looks) very good.
