Do The Twist
Atlantic labelmates Twista and Trina storm back this week with new albums. Twista's "The Day After" is led by first single "Girl Tonite" featuring Trey Songz. The cut is No. 12 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
The album also features guest appearances from Jamie Foxx, the Neptunes' Pharrell Williams and Pitbull. Production was supplied by the Neptunes, Scott Storch, Timbaland, David Banner, Toxic and Cuzo.
"The Day After" is the follow-up to Twista's 2004 breakthrough, "Kamikaze," which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 1.8 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
As for tart-tongued rapper Trina, her third album, "Glamorest Life," is led by the single "Don't Trip" featuring Lil' Wayne. The set boasts tracks like "Da Club" featuring Mannie Fresh as well as appearances by Snoop Dogg, Trey Songz, Destiny's Child's Kelly Rowland, Teedra Moses and Lil' Scrappy, plus production by Kanye West, Jazze Pha and Cool & Dre.
It's the follow-up to 2002's "Diamond Princess," which debuted at No. 5 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and has sold 489,000 copies to date.
