The new INXS lineup will open its first North American tour Jan. 18 in Vancouver. The group recently replaced late lead singer Michael Hutchence via the public audition/TV reality show "Rock Star: INXS," which ended with Canadian J.D. Fortune landing the gig.

The first leg of the band's Switched On world tour will play 20-plus theater dates through Feb. 18 show in Washington, D.C. Tickets will go on sale Oct. 15-16, with details to be announced via the band's official Web site.

The band -- Andrew Farriss (keyboards/guitar), Tim Farriss (guitar), Jon Farriss (drums), Kirk Pengilly (guitar/saxophone), Garry Beers (bass) and Fortune - is working on its debut album with Fortune, "Switch," which is due Nov. 29 via Epic. As previously reported, INXS also will join Gang Of Four and Dredg for a free Oct. 17 performance at the grand opening of Los Angeles' new Virgin Megastore.
