Miley Cyrus will bring her “Bangerz” tour to Australia later this year.
Promoters the Dainty Group today announced Miley would play arenas in Australia’s five big cities this October.
At this stage, just five dates have been announced on a trek that starts Oct. 10 at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, then visits Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and wraps-up Oct. 23 at Perth Arena. The itinerary as it stands has glaring gaps into which additional shows can be added in the weeks and months ahead.
The general ticket onsale starts June 23 from ticketek.com.au while a pre-sale will begin June 20 through the Dainty Group’s official Website. Tickets will be priced at Australian $99.90 ($94) and Australian $149.90 ($141) plus booking fees.
“Bangerz,” Miley’s fourth studio album, opened at No. 1 on the ARIA albums chart following its release last October, while the singles “Wrecking Ball” (certified quadruple platinum for 280,000-plus units) and “We Can’t Stop” (triple platinum for 210,000-plus units) have been huge hits. The album was the pop star’s second career No. 1 Down Under, following the chart-topping “Breakout” from September 2008.
Miley will head to Australia during what figures to be a frenetic touring market. Lady Gaga visits in August, Kanye West and Robbie Williams tour in September, Justin Timberlake will hit the road in September and October, while Katy Perry will be in the country November and December.
