Elvis Costello acknowledges the raucous applause received for debut of his opera 'The Secret Arias' in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Elvis Costello (with frequent collaborator Steve Nieve, center) acknowledges the raucous applause received for the Oct. 8 of his opera 'The Secret Arias' at the new Opera House in Copenhagen, Denmark. Costello wrote his own take on Denmark's beloved fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen. Far from a children's story, the show tells a three-way drama between Andersen, Swedish soprano Jenny Lind and her American impresario, Phineas Taylor Barnum.
