Combs serves as executive co-producer of four tracks for the soundtrack, which include Notorious B.I.G.'s "Who Shot Ya" remixed by Serj Tankian of System Of A Down, "Clik, Clak and Spray" by Pack FM, "Book of Judges" by Pharoahe Monch and "Getting Up Anthem: Part 1" by Rakim and Talib Kweli, who also plays lead character Trane in the game.
"When Marc first presented this opportunity to me last year, I was blown away by the passion and depth of his script and knew that we could do something groundbreaking with the music," says Combs. "While the use of original tracks as narrative tools are quite common in film, this project has raised the bar for the future of in-game music."
In addition to Combs' songs, Rhymefest's "Wanted" and compositions from RJD2 will be available only on the soundtrack, which will be offered through pre-orders on the official "Getting Up" Web site.
Other musical collaborators include Wu-Tang Clan's the RZA and DJ Nature. The in-game soundtrack also features music from Fort Minor, Liquid Liquid, Del The Funky Homosapien and Jane's Addiction.
