News on Latin Grammys, Wilco, Carly Simon

Performances by Juan Luis Guerra, Los Tigres Del Norte, Kumbia Kings, Julieta Venegas and a pairing of Bebo Valdes, Cachao, Arturo Sandoval, Johnny Pacheco, Generoso Jimenez and Ed Calle are confirmed for the 2005 Latin Grammy Awards.

The event will be held Nov. 3 at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium and broadcast live on Univision. Among the previously announced performers are five-time 2005 nominee Bebe, Intocable, La Ley and Laura Pausini.

Newly added to the list of presenters are Myrka Dellanos, Cristian de la Fuente, Daisy Fuentes, Maria Elena Salinas, and Tito Trinidad.

Wilco's Nov. 1 show at Chicago's Auditorium Theatre will serve as a benefit for the New Orleans Musician Relief Fund and the Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans. Tickets go on sale Saturday (Oct. 15) via Ticketmaster and the venue; also available are a limited amount of VIP boxes that come with a party at sound check on the day of the show.

The New Orleans Musician Relief Fund was founded by the db's' Jeff Beninato to aid musicians in need in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The Preservation Resource Center is assisting in the rebuilding of homes and communities in the city.

As previously reported, Wilco will issue the live album "Kicking Television" Nov. 1 via Nonesuch. Frontman Jeff Tweedy will embark on a solo tour beginning Nov. 5 in Madison, Wis.

Carly Simon will embark on her first tour in more than a decade beginning Nov. 19 in Boston. The veteran performer will be joined on the road by her children Ben and Sally Taylor, who will collaborate with her on a handful of songs each night. The trek comes un support of Simon's recent Columbia album, "Moonlight Serenade," which debuted at No. 7 on The Billboard 200.

As previously reported, her performances on the Queen Mary 2 during a September transatlantic crossing will be chronicled on the DVD "A Moonlight Serenade on the Queen Mary 2 Concert," due Nov. 22 via Columbia. Highlights will also air in December during PBS' annual pledge drive.
