Eric Clapton will pen his memoirs for Random House, which expects to publish the volume in 2007. The book will be timed to coincide with a North American tour and long-awaited Clapton boxed set via Warner Bros.

Clapton "will write frankly about every aspect of his personal and musical odyssey, addressing everything that is known about his life as well as much that is not," according to the publisher.

The as-yet-untitled book will be co-written with Christopher Simon Sykes, who most recently penned the HarperCollins book "The Big House: The Story of a Country House and Its Family."

As previously reported, Clapton will rejoin his bandmates in Cream for an Oct. 24-26 run at New York's Madison Square Garden. A CD/DVD of the trio's May performances at London's Royal Albert Hall debuts this week at No. 59 on The Billboard 200.
