News on mtvU Woodies, Tiesto, Squarepusher
Performances by Death Cab For Cutie, Little Brother and a collaboration between Saul Williams and Matisyahu will be featured at this year's mtvU Woodie Awards, to be held Nov. 2 at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom. The show will air Nov. 10 on MTVu.
As previously reported, the Woodie awards honor artists featured on the college-centered television network.
The Arcade Fire leads the nominees list with five. Death Cab For Cutie is nominated for best video Woodie -- live action, while Matisyahu and Saul Williams are both nominated for the left field Woodie (for musically uncategorizable artist). Matisyahu is additionally up for breaking Woodie (best emerging artist).

Tiesto will ring in 2006 with a six-hour New Year's Eve bash in Las Vegas. The event at the Orleans Arena is expected to top the internationally renowned DJ's usual live show spectacle, with a $500,000 set, a three-story LED wall, pyrotechnics and lasers.
Tickets available at TiestoInConcert.com and Ticketmaster range from $275 to $100, with the high-end VIP price offering premium audience location and access to a lounge and open bar.

U.K. electronica act Squarepusher (Tom Jenkinson) will begin a rare tour Nov. 10 in Birmingham, England. Each show will feature a Jenkinson solo bass set and an electronica set, while a handful of them will boast live jams with drummer Paul Hession and/or saxophonist Mick Beck.
Jenkinson's Warp labelmate Luke Vibert is also on the bill for the run, which will conclude Nov. 25 in Glasgow.
Squarepusher's most recent album, 2004's "Ultravisitor," debuted at No. 9 on Billboard's Top Electronic Albums chart.
