Answers to readers' questions about Delta Goodrem, FeFe Dobson and Prince.

WHEN WILL DELTA DAWN?

Keith,

Can you please help me find information on Delta Goodrem, I saw her perform on the World Music Awards broadcast and I instantly fell in love with her talents. But with the U.S. release of her album being pushed back to January and no sign of her anywhere else, what is happening?

Do you know when she will be appearing on our screens for promo and when single "Lost Without You" will be released? Also could you confirm the track list and release date for the album, "Born To Try?"

Thanks,

Matthew

Hi Matthew,

I'm afraid I can't provide very detailed answers to your questions. Right now, Delta Goodrem's debut U.S. album doesn't have an announced release date, however, it is slated to come out in early 2006.

Fellow Billboard.com columnist Fred Bronson last month discussed Goodrem in "Chart Beat Chat" and told readers that the album should be out on Jan. 10. So perhaps the release date has changed, but one should expect it early in the New Year.

Goodrem's first U.S. single, "Lost Without You," is at No. 20 this week on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart. It peaked last month at No. 18.

Keep checking with Goodrem's official Web site (deltagoodrem.com) for the latest information.

AWAITING FEFE

Hi Keith,

I wanted to ask if you knew anything about FeFe Dobson's new album. Also, how did her last CD do?

Jefry

Hi Jefry,

FeFe Dobson's new album, "Sunday Love," is scheduled for release on Feb. 7 via Island Def Jam. It is the follow-up to her 2003 self-titled debut, which has sold 304,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Originally, "Sunday Love" was aimed for a September 2005 release, but as frequently happens, plans shifted and the album will now emerge as part of the label's first quarter schedule.

Dobson's first album peaked at No. 67 on The Billboard 200 and spawned the minor radio hits "Take Me Away" and "Everything." The former reached No. 25 on Billboard Radio Monitor's Mainstream Top 40 airplay chart, while the latter made it to No. 39.

Visit Dobson's official Web site (fefedobson.com for further news on the singer.

MORE FROM THE MUSICOLOGIST, PLEASE

Keith,

Do you have any word on a new Prince album and tour?

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Boy, don't I wish. Nothing has been announced regarding any of Prince's upcoming albums or tour. Around here, we're about as in the dark as you are.

However, Prince did recently release a CD single on Oct. 25 via NPG/Sony. The two-track single includes "S.S.T." and "Brand New Orleans." The latter is an instrumental. Proceeds from the single benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Personally, I've been hoping for a CD and DVD chronicling Prince's hugely successful "Musicology" tour of 2004. (I saw the show twice and it was amazing both times.) Here's to hoping that we'll all hear about a new Prince project soon.
