The National, Lorde, Nas x The Roots to Play Boston Calling Music Festival
The National, Lorde, Nas with The Roots, The Replacements and Neutral Milk Hotel will all perform at the three-day Boston Calling Music Festival September 5-7. The event will take place at the city’s historic City Hall Plaza.
After helping sell out last year’s inaugural Boston Calling last May, The National will return as headliners. As with the festival’s first three editions — May and September 2013, and this upcoming May 23-25 — September’s lineup was co-curated by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist of The National Aaron Dessner.
"Collaborating on the programming of Boston Calling has been such a great experience for me and I feel we are getting better and better with each edition,” Dessner said in a press release statement. “We were able to book several of my favorite artists in the world for September's lineup, both emerging or relatively new like Lorde, The War on Drugs, Volcano Choir and Future Islands, and long established artists such as The Replacements, Nas, The Roots, Neutral Milk Hotel and Spoon. This lineup is undoubtedly our most exciting one yet and I'm looking forward to returning with The National to play a full headline set with full production for our fans in Boston."
Other announced performers include Childish Gambino, Spoon, Girl Talk, The 1975, Volcano Choir, Twenty One Pilots, The War on Drugs, The Hold Steady, Lake Street Dive, Bleachers, White Denim, Future Islands and Sky Ferreira.
