Country legend Kenny Rogers is eyeing a March release for a new studio album, "Water and Bridges." The Capitol Nashville set will be led by first single "Can't Unlove You," which will be delivered Dec. 12 to U.S. radio outlets. It's Rogers' first new studio album since 2003's "Back to the Well."
Beforehand, Capitol Nashville/EMI Music Catalog Marketing will on Jan. 24 issue "Kenny Rogers: 21 Number Ones," an updated edition of the 1980 collection "Kenny Rogers' Greatest Hits," which has been certified for U.S. shipments of 12 million copies by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Beyond such enduring tracks as "Islands in the Stream" with Dolly Parton, the Lionel Richie-penned "Lady," "Lucille," "She Believes in Me" and "You Decorated My Life," the set features the new addition "Don't Fall in Love With a Dreamer," which reached No. 3 in 1980 on the Billboard country singles chart.
Rogers and Richie re-teamed this summer to tape an episode of "CMT Crossroads," which will premiere Nov. 26 on the country network. The same day, Rogers will begin a holiday tour with Rebecca Lynn Howard and Billy Dean at the Office Depot Center in Sunrise, Fla.
