Hick-hop goes Gotham with a trip to New York for the CMA Awards.
Just finished a working my hindquarter off in New York for the CMA's [39th annual Country Music Association Awards]. It was a week of nonstop running and interviews for radio and TV and it was way cool.
I was glad I got the chance to visit with the fans through mass communication outlets. The red carpet was off the hook with all the stars that were there. I got to meet Kris Kristofferson on the red carpet as well as Olivia Newton-John.
There were a number of people I hadn't seen in a while since everybody's been touring and/or acting for most of the year. I was glad to see Tim McGraw after last talking to him months before. I said howdy to Faith Hill briefly before she went on stage and I was fortunate enough to present album of the year with Wynonna to Lee Ann Womack.
I was excited to finally meet Willie Nelson, George Strait and the great Billy Joel. A huge congratulations to my friend, Miss Lady Gretchen Wilson on winning female vocalist of the year.
Now I am back on the grind with the Muzik Mafia and we are gearing up for a four day run through the Northeast. After this run we will dock this ship for Thanksgiving and will gear back up for December.
I hope you got a chance to see the Awards. Check your local listings for when it re-airs. You deserve to be entertained... and you shall.
