Match.com got in on the April Fool's game today, and the joke came at the expense of the recently separated Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Those visiting Match.com's official blog UpToDate this morning found a post hyping a "limited edition digital vinyl from Match" titled "Consciously Coupling" -- a play on the "Conscious Uncoupling" separation statement that broke the bad news last week. We're not quite sure what a "digital vinyl" is (or how anything digital can be "limited edition"), but the album artwork was a sly parody of the cover of Coldplay's last album, 2011's "Mylo Xyloto."
Clicking on the download link leads users to a greeting of "Happy April Fools' Day!" with a "#JK" album cover adorned with a piece of kale.
The album was advertised to include the "hits" "Cruisin' For Kale" and "Magic Matcha."
Last week, Martin and Paltrow announced plans to split after more than 10 years of marriage. In a statement posted to the lifestyle newsletter/site GOOP, Paltrow and Martin stressed their role in remaining good parents to their two children.
