New Yorker Blake Boshnack gives American Idol a try.
Blake Boshnack, 20. of Hewlett Neck, N.Y., tries his best to impress the judges at the Chicago auditions for "American Idol" by dressing up as an American icon. Unfortunately, he was cut just a few bars into a rendition of "New York, New York." Boshnack was one of many aspiring singers who did not pass through to the Hollywood rounds for the Fox show, which premiered on Tuesday (Jan. 17) to 35.5 million viewers. The fifth season opening show logged the highest ratings ever for entertainment programming in total viewers for the network, as well as the highest opening-night numbers yet for the show.
