Rock act Thursday is nearly finished with its second Island album, "A City by the Light Divided." Due May 2, the project will be led by the single "Counting 5-4-3-2-1." As previously reported, it was produced by Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev) and recorded at his Tarbox Studios in Freedonia, N.Y.

Among the other tracks expected to make the final cut is "We Will Overcome," which frontman Geoff Rickly previously told Billboard.com was about "how much of America's history is based in violence, and it's also about the current war going on, and the situation the country's in. It's about standing up and saying something and not to despair the state of our country, but to stick together with the people you love and have hope."

Next month, Thursday will embark on the Shirts for a Cure tour in tandem with Minus The Bear, The Number 12 Looks Like You, We're All Broken and mewithoutYou. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the aforementioned charity, which fosters breast cancer research via artist-specific t-shirts.

In between the tour's two legs, Thursday will eight shows on the Taste of Chaos tour with Island labelmate Thrice.
