Actor/musician/comedian Jack Black will add "kids' show host" to his many titles later this spring when he helms Nickelodeon's annual Kids' Choice Awards. The event will air April 1 on the cable network. Beforehand, the Tenacious D co-leader and "King Kong" star will contribute exclusive content to Nickelodeon podcasts via Nick.com.

Among the music nominees for the awards, Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl," Green Day's "Wake Me Up When September Ends," Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" and Ciara's "1, 2 Step" will vie for favorite song.

Carey, Kelly Clarkson, Hilary Duff and Alicia Keys are up for favorite female singer, while Bow Wow, Jesse McCartney, Nelly and Will Smith are nominated for favorite male singer. Favorite music group nominees are Backstreet Boys, Black Eyed Peas, Destiny's Child and Green Day. Fans can vote for their favorite winners beginning March 6 via Nick.com.

As for Black, he will next be seen June 2 in the comedy "Nacho Libre," in which he portrays a Mexican priest who moonlights as a masked professional wrestler. In November, the long-awaited Tenacious D movie "Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny" is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters.
