Even with the 48th annual Grammy Awards drawing to a close, music fans thought Mariah Carey's "The Emancipation of Mimi" would pull of the big win, according to a Billboard.com poll. The set took 49% of 4,323 votes, while U2's "How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb," which ultimately won the honor at the Feb. 8 ceremony, netted 37% of the response.

Despite the Carey vs. Kanye West hoopla leading up to the ceremony, poll respondents didn't think "Late Registration" had much of a chance, with only 8% of voters selecting his disc. Paul McCartney's "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard" and Gwen Stefani's "Love. Angel. Music. Baby." were even less in consideration, netting just 3% each.
