Animated band Gorillaz will overtake New York's legendary Apollo Theater for an April 2-6 stand, during which it will recreate material from its 2005 album, "Demon Days." The shows will feature guest appearances by a number of the acts that contributed to that project, including De La Soul, Roots Manuva, Neneh Cherry, Ike Turner, the Happy Mondays' Shaun Ryder and the Pharcyde's Bootie Brown.

Tickets go on sale March 10 via Ticketmaster. Gorillaz were last seen performing alongside Madonna during the opening segment of the 2006 Grammy Awards.

Meanwhile, a November residency at the Manchester (England) Opera House forms the basis of the upcoming DVD "Gorillaz: Demon Days," due March 27 internationally. A North American release is planned, but a date has not been set.

The group is still planning on staging a groundbreaking tour in 2007-2008 with assistance from animation company Passion Pictures. Gorillaz principals will be rendered in full three-dimensional images while the music is played live.
